Spirit and Truth Fellowship of Knoxville

Spirit and Truth Fellowship of Knoxville (STFK) is a member of the NOVA scienceNOW community and proudly sponsors Science Café events for the Knoxville area. Science Cafés are events that take place in casual settings such as pubs and coffeehouses, are open to everyone and feature an engaging conversation with a scientist about a particular topic.

The local chapter is called the STFK Science Cafe. The monthly meetings take place at the Bearden Branch Library. Click here for times and information.

The STFK Science Cafe is the ideal venue to discuss your research with interested members of the general public. To volunteer as a presenter, contact the organizer, David Spakes.

STFK also hosts a Kid’s Cafe for children ages 5-12 during the same time as the Science Cafe in order to teach a science lesson to the kids that relates to the topic the adults are discussing. The lessons include hands-on activities and games to help make learning science fun! The goal of this program is to get kids excited about learning science and to promote quality time for parents and children at home as they tell each other what they learned.

STFK recruits graduate students for the Kid’s Cafe companion program and  needs volunteers to help with each session. Click here to email the organization if you are interested in volunteering with STFK’s Kid’s Cafe.
