Research and Student Data Vulnerability in the Ransomware Era, Feb. 18

Jason R. Jarnagin, supervisory special agent with the FBI Cyber Task Force, Knoxville field office, will present “Research and Student Data Vulnerability in the Ransomware Era,” Friday, Feb. 18 at 12 p.m. via Zoom.

Emerging technologies in the cyber arena have provided academia with unprecedented capabilities to optimize both instruction and administration. They also come with risks and vulnerabilities. During his presentation, Jarnagin will discuss common cyber threats directed toward academic institutions, some mitigations of these threats, and what to do should you suspect or know you have been impacted.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
