September 11: Hollie Raynor, Professor of Nutrition

feature imageHollie Raynor, professor of nutrition and associate dean of research in the UT College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences, will present “Childhood Obesity and Treatment: Translating Research into Practice,” Friday, September 11 via Zoom.

Research forms the basis of evidence-based guidelines that are used by many health professions to improve health, yet often this research is not conducted in a way that translates well into practice. In her presentation, Raynor will review the challenges of translation in the area of childhood obesity treatment and provide a real-world example of translation into a federally qualified health center in East Tennessee – Cherokee Health Systems.

The UT Science Forum takes place via Zoom Friday, Sept. 11 from noon to 1 p.m. Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive a link to join the Zoom presentation.
