How to Make a Dinosaur Mummy, Oct. 27

Stephanie Drumheller-Horton, lecturer in the UT Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, will present “How to Make a Dinosaur Mummy: Applying Forensic Principles to a Paleontological Quandary” Friday, Oct. 27 at noon via Zoom.

So-called dinosaur “mummies” have been known for well over a century, but how they fossilized has remained something of a mystery. Drumheller-Horton will share research on an exquisitely preserved hadrosaur from North Dakota that suggests patterns of preservation first described in an anthropological context can be applied to understand these unusual fossils.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Once registered, you will receive an email with information about joining the meeting via Zoom.

Register today for the Oct. 27 Science Forum lecture.
